Realme recently announced that it will soon launch a new device, which will be the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the MediaTek Helio P70 processor. The company has now put out a teaser regarding the same on its official Twitter account. The Twitter post states that the device will be part of a new lineup of U-series smartphones.
MediaTek Helio P70 was launched on October 24 globally, which the company said will start shipping inside smartphones by the end of 2018. The processor is based on TSMC’s 12nm FinFET technology and it comes with a multi-core APU for AI. MediaTek Helio P70 comes with four ARM Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.1GHz and four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz.
The processor is paired with the ARM Mali-G72 GPU with operating speeds of up to 900MHz. The company claims this will be able to deliver a graphics performance bump of up to 13 per cent compared to the previous generation. This new processor supports dual rear cameras of up to 24MP+16MP. Additionally, it features three image signal processors for reduced power consumption.
