The billboard of Ram Mandir shines at Times Square in New York, the Indians chant 'Jai Shri Ram

On Wednesday, South Asian diaspora groups converged to celebrate the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya in New York's Times Square. Indians raised slogans and vocally proclaimed support for the bhoomi pujan ceremony at which Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended.

Although the American India Public Affairs Committee's ambitious plans, claimed to be a pro-Bharatiya Janata Party faction, did not materialize to project an picture of the proposed temple on the prestigious Times Square Nasdaq screen, one temple digital board aired over the Hershey store for a limited part of the day.

The bright image of Lord Ram, the grand temple and the Indian tricolour beamed on a giant wrap-around LED display screen on Wednesday.

While the organisers had planned to beam the photos from 8 AM to 10 PM on Wednesday, the image of Lord Ram and the temple was displayed for about four hours till 1 PM.
