It gained huge respect in popular film festivals like the Toronto International film festival, Cannes film festival, and the Pacific Meridian Film festival. This is a Bengali Movie.
7. Unfreedom
The story revolves around an Islamic kidnaper. While another story in parallel about a police officer who kidnaps her daughter’s girlfriend. The movie gained good appraises in America and other nations too.

The movie was a Bengali story of a man with an exciting tool. Though it wasn’t released in India, people abroad appreciated the concept.
5. Parzania
This movie was fortunate to get a release later. It was a story of a young kid who gets separated from his parents during the statewide riots. Censor board stopped it from releasing in India as they felt it would increase violence.

It was a biopic of the badass lady Fulan Devi. The film is a ride through all her life struggles. Though it made way to the box office after many cries and was also appreciated at Cannes.

The film was about a serious issue. The southern parts of India were against the release. They tried hard to stop the film to reach the box office. While it made a good gross overseas and was later released in India.

Tigers is a film starring Emraan Hashmi. The film was about the deaths that occurred due to Nestle’s carelessness. The film was denied release in 2014 but well appreciated abroad. It is now to be released on Zee5.
1. Lipstick Under My Burkha
This film was about gender equality. It attracted a huge international attention. The film also received the best film award on gender equality. It was then released in some parts in India too.
