Samsung Focusing on Selfie Phone Pop-up Camera With Triple Rear Cameras: Study

Samsung appears to be experimenting with a pop-up selfie camera on their first smartphone, a study has suggested. Although the article does not highlight the smartphone's name, it is speculated that the alleged Samsung phone is part of the company's 'Galaxy A' lineup. There's actually still no news about the under-the-hood features or pricing of the Samsung smartphone. It is also important to note that the production of this smartphone has not been verified by Samsung so it is advisable to take the details with a dose of salt.

According to Pigtou's post, the rumored Samsung phone will arrive with a pop-up selfie camera along with triple cameras on the rear, in collaboration with OnLeaks. From the alleged renders reported on the website, much like the OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 T Pro, we can see the pop-up selfie camera located on the top-left side of the smartphone. The camera specifics are not highlighted in the study.

In addition to the pop-up camera, the Samsung phone's alleged renders also show the Black-colored handset with thin bezels and slightly curved edges. There is also a fingerprint sensor mounted in back. Consequently, at the bottom there is a USB Type-C port with a microphone on its right and a speaker grille on the left. Finally, the Samsung logo at the bottom of the rear panel is visible. The article also points out that there is likely to be a 6.5-inch display on the alleged Samsung handset. There's no information on the smartphone about the RAM, processor or memory.

This is not the first time Samsung has been speculated to work with a selfie pop-up camera on a tablet. A study last year suggested that with the Samsung Galaxy A90 smartphone, Samsung would add the pop-up feature. But in September the South Korean tech giant launched the Samsung Galaxy A90 5 G with a waterdrop-notch and no pop-up display. Samsung notably launched the GalaxyA80 in April 2019. The phone had a rotating camera system that provides an almost bezelless display experience to the smartphone.
