Facebook has revealed that its web interface is now available from around the world. Facebook began rolling the new template to most users in March but now it says all users across the globe should get it. Last year the design was announced at F8, and it brings with it the anticipated Dark Mode. The new interface is claimed to be faster than the previous one, and also to be easier to use.
Facebook.com is having a more streamlined approach to navigation, making it easier to discover videos, games and even groups. The social giant claims that it also loads home page and other page transitions much faster, and is now almost similar to the mobile experience.
In a new blog post, Facebook confirms that the new Web design is now available to all users around the globe. The new design brings with it a Dark Mode toggle that lets you switch whenever you prefer to the greyscale look. The new Dark Mode switch can be found in the dropdown menu at the top-right, which can be used to reduce eye strain.
There is a sidebar on the left that houses your profile link, the dedicated COVID-19 Information Center tab, and inter alia provides access to Messenger chats. The Friends list flows at the right corner, and the feed takes up all of the middle space.
The top panel features a new '+' sign that not only allows you to create a post or a life event, but also allows you to easily create events, pages, groups and even ads on Facebook. The social media giant states on their blog that before you build it, users can also 'preview a new community that you are starting in real time, to see what it looks like on mobile.
All has been updated from the chat window to the user profile and Facebook says the latest template is rolling out globally to all devices. As stated, in March it started rolling out to a majority of users and now all users around the world should be able to see the new design on their desktop browser.
