On Sunday night, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to the AIIMS after complaining of chest pain and uneasiness. Doctors said that Manmohan Singh is in a safe condition and under the guidance of an AIIMS cardiothorax center team. Manmohan Singh was admitted to AIIMS for observation and investigation after a febrile reaction or fever-like symptoms developed after he was given a new drug.
The former leader of Congress has fever, and is being investigated to rule out other causes of fever. Sources have said treatment is being given as required. Manmohan Singh, who is 87, was admitted to AIIMS on Sunday evening when officials at the hospital said he was in a safe state.
His conditions were also good when he was being held under observation by doctors after he complained about uncomfort. Manmohan Singh underwent successful coronary bypass operation at AIIMS in 2009.
Several leaders expressed concerns about his health after he was admitted to hospital on Sunday.
Manmohan Singh, a senior opposition Congress leader, is currently a Rajasthan-based parliamentarian in Rajya Sabha. He was the UPA government's prime minister from 2004 through 2014.
Last week, along with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, he attended a meeting of top Congress leadership in which they addressed the coronavirus situation with Congress-ruled chief ministers.
