Poonam Pandey refutes police arrest claims for violating lockdown: 'I had a film marathon last night'

Model-turned-actor Poonam Pandey has given a clarification after it has been claimed that the police arrested her for breaching the lockdown law. She posted a video on Instagram, saying there was no truth to the reports, and she was having a movie marathon in her house.

"Hey guys, last night, I was having a movie marathon. I watched back-to - back three movies, that was fun. Since last night I have been getting calls that I am arrested and I see that in the television as well. Guys, just don't write about me, please. I'm home and I'm absolutely fine. Love all of you,' she said in the video.

PTI announced that the Mumbai Police had booked Poonam and her husband, Sam Ahmad Bombay, for violating the rules of the nationwide lockdown and going out for a drive in her luxury car.

"A case was filed against Pandey and Sam Ahmad Bombay (46) pursuant to sections 269 (Negligent Act likely to spread life-threatening disease infection) and 188 (Disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Indian Penal Code ( IPC) and pursuant to the provisions of the National Disaster Act," Mrityunjay Hiremath, senior police inspector told the department.

Poonam had gained prominence after pledging to strip if the Indian cricket team lifted the 2011 World Cup. She made her 2013 Bollywood debut with Nasha, playing a teacher who gets entangled with one of their students.

Although Poonam has been missing from the big screen for some time now, she's been busy with her smartphone application-the Poonam Pandey App-sharing her pictures and videos on it.
