India’s toll jumps to 1.98 lakh as 8,000 patients registered in 24 hours, recovery rate increases to 48.19%India’s positive patients tally is about to touch the mark of 2 lakh as the number has hiked to 1,98,706. This is becoming a concern for the government as the lockdown is partially over and it might grow the number of positive patients in the country. According to the reports, a total of around 8,000 people were reported in the past 24 hours for the straight third day.

Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu experienced the highest spike in their number. On the other side, Delhi is experiencing slight relief regarding fresh patient registration. In the last 24 hours, 204 people have lost their lives due to the severe infection spread.

As per the updated report, there are around 97,581 active patients and 95,527 have been successfully recovered to date. The recovery rate has also increased to 48.19% and it’s much higher than in other countries in the world.

Maharashtra has crossed the 70,000-mark as the toll has reached 70,013. And, alone in Mumbai, there are more than 40,000 patients. The state government has increased the lockdown in Maharashtra till June 30 and also restricted the activities in the red and contaminated zones.

Tamil Nadu is the second most-affected state in the nation and it is having a tally of 23,495 positive patients and around 173 people have lost their lives. As per the Health Ministry’s report, the fatality rate is declining slowly and the situation will improve in the upcoming time.
