While the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown led to many plans going haywire, a U.S. teen who was unable to participate in a prom-outfit scholarship contest decided to "document a part of history" in her dress instead.
Peyton Manker, 18, who created a duct tape prom outfit to win a scholarship contest, was gravely disappointed because of the event's cancellation.
The 18-year-old, however, undeterred, wanted to pursue her search and inculcate how people have been affected in her dress because of Covid-19. Peyton's dress is inspired by the coronavirus, and aims to tell a story, according to a Facebook post by her mother, Suzy Smith Manker.
"Peyton has been working on a duct tape dress for the last four months to enter a contest. I knew she was an artist but I'm amazed to see her dress results! She bases it on coronavirus, and it tells a tale. Whatever the contest result, I'm so proud of her hard work and perseverance, "she wrote while sharing some pictures of the dress of her daughter.
