Rajasthan High Court has resumed hearing the petition lodged by Sachin Pilot and his rebel group, challenging the state assembly speaker's disqualification notices. And in the event of a decision, the procedure is likely to be drawn out, because the Supreme Court will appeal the judgment.
Meanwhile, chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot said he knew his former deputy Sachin Pilot was "good for nothing." Speaking to the reporters, he said, "I knew he was worthless, good for nothing, and he was there just to instigate people to fight. I'm not here selling food, I'm the CM.'
Congress MLA Girraj Singh has said former deputy chief minister Pilot had offered Rs 35 crores. After the Congress protested to the speaker that the lawmakers had defied the party whip to attend two meetings of the Legislature Party last week on Monday and Tuesday, the rebels were given the disqualification notices.
On Sunday, a team from Rajasthan Police's Special Operation Group (SOG) — which is investigating allegations of horse trafficking to bring down the Ashok Gehlot government — again went to the resort in Haryana hosting rebel MLAs supporting Sachin Pilot, but returned empty-handed within 10 minutes as the hotel management didn't allow them to enter and asked them to come in the morning.
