The government extended the nationwide lockdown to May 31 on Sunday, but also revised lockdown guidelines to allow more relaxation. In the revised guidelines, the government said all activities will be allowed across the country, except those explicitly prohibited (full list below).
The nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus was imposed on March 25, and has now been extended three times.
The list of banned practices and shut-down facilities includes domestic and international air travel, metro systems, schools and universities, hotels and restaurants, cinemas, malls, gyms, swimming pools, religious and social gatherings.
The government has also allowed people on cars or buses to travel interstate. The government also said people 's movement would remain prohibited between 7 pm and 7 am, unless it's for vital services.
While restrictions have been significantly eased, the government has left it up to the states and union territories to decide whether they want to ban certain activities in some areas. Also, States and UTs were allowed to delineate containment, buffer, red, orange and green areas. The restrictions to be enforced in the respective zones will be determined more or less by states and UTs.

WHAT REMAINS Shut
The guidelines for the Lockdown 4.0 have greatly eased restrictions across the country. Anything else is permitted except for those practices which are specifically forbidden. These are the activities which are still banned:
International and domestic air travel, unless for medical, safety or emergency purposes
-- Underground rail networks(Metro Trains)
-- Coaching institutions, schools, colleges
-- Hotels and restaurants, with the exception of those involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus. Restaurants are required to operate kitchens to deliver food home
-- Social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious gatherings and other congregations remain prohibited-weddings with up to 50 guests and funerals with up to 20 attendees are permitted. Both places of worship remain closed
-- Move between 7 pm and 7 am, unless it is intended for essential services
The new lockdown guidelines mean that services such as salons and barber shops, taxis and rickshaws, public transportation (except metro), and e-commerce for both essential and non-essential items can resume throughout the country unless a state or UT bans them.
