Nag Ashwin's Twitter users were swift to school on why liquor could not be served in Indian theatres.

Many premieres of films and TV shows have been delayed or are released on OTT platforms.Many members of the movie fraternity are worried about how their movies will work post-lockdown due to fear of contracting the virus. Mahanati director Nag Ashwin shared his views on how once the lockdown will increase the footfall to movie theatres. Ashwin suggested in his tweets that select Indian theatres could provide their audience with liquor to increase the number of ticket sales.

But many Twitter users have shot down the idea of the Mahanati manager. They were able to find out that Indian theatres, like other nations, should not be serving liquor. But all of this Twitter trolling began when Nag Ashwin wrote, "Once in a conversation with suresh babu garu and rana, it came up what if theaters got a license to serve beer / breezer / wine, as in other countries."
Ashwin then expounded this idea. He wrote, "So true ... it will keep the audience away from the family" He continued, "It might be an option for a few multiplexes, but not a solution ... what do you think theaters need to do to get back to ppl?
