Sonam Kapoor starred for the first time in Bewakoofiyaan directorial of Nupur Asthana opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. It was a romantic comedy film featuring the pivotal roles of Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. The Nupur Asthana directed a film released in 2014 under the banner of Yash Raj Films.


It was Ayushmann Khurrana's third film in Bollywood and while it didn't earn much at the box office, Ayushmann Khurrana's fans still liked the film because of the characters' rawness and its engaging film plot set up against the recession backdrop.
