One of the much-anticipated movies of this year was Kangana Ranaut’s Thalaivi. We know that this movie has been getting prepped for its release for a very long time now. We all know that Kangana has put in a lot of hard work to fit into this character. Everyone was waiting for the lockdown to get over for the movie to get released, and the lockdown is not getting over. So the makers of the movie have decided to release the movie on the digital platform. It is reported that Kangana’s film Thalaivi has been sold to Netflix and Amazon Prime for Rs 55 crore.
As per the reports, Kangana spoke about the release of her film Thalaivi saying, “It depends. For example, a film like Thalaivi just can’t release on digital because it is such a massive scale film, neither a movie like Manikarnika is a digital space film, but yes films like Panga, Judgementall Hai Kya also cater to that audience. The way the film is made, it is very digital-friendly. They have recovered huge costs through digital itself. So, it depends.”
Kangana has revealed her point of view quite clearly about the release of the film on the digital platform. She said that the movie releases on a digital platform or not, she is completely ok. On the other hand, she said, “For Thalaivi, it is a bilingual film. As a matter of fact, the film is sold to both Netflix and Amazon in both Hindi and Tamil for around Rs 55 crore.” If we talk about the storyline of the movie Thalaivi, it is based on the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. It is directed by A L Vijay. It was supposed to be released on 26th June before the lockdown was imposed.
