Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, a late Sushant Singh Rajput acquaintance, has been the target of online harassment after the Bollywood actor died on June 14 as a result of suicide. During the actor's final days they were rumored to be dating but the two never accepted nor denied being in a relationship.
While Rhea chose to remain silent on the whole situation and had limited comments on her social media account, she opened up on Thursday about the "toxicity and harassment" she had faced for a month now. The actress, via a social media post, said she was on the receiving end of a lot of hate and was branded a gold digger and a murderer. She further claimed to be threatened with rape and death.
"I was named a digger of gold .. I stayed quiet. I was called assassin ... I kept silent. I was shamed of a slut .... I kept silent. But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that if I don't commit suicide @mannu raaut (sic), you'll get me RAPED and MURDERED "she wrote in an Instagram post along with a screenshot of a threatening message that she got from an account called mannu raaut yesterday.
"Do you know what you said was serious? Those are offences, and by statute no one should be exposed to this kind of violence and abuse (sic), I repeat NO ONE "she said.
Earlier a complaint was filed before a Bihar court accusing actress Rhea Chakraborty of abetting the suicide of the deceased actor. She was charged with "financial and mental abuse" of Rajput whom she dumped after having secured her career and served her intent.
