With India entering the final week of nationwide lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today held a video conference to discuss the way ahead with the chief ministers. This was the fourth such meeting between PM Narendra Modi and the chief minister of state after the outbreak occurred.
According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, today the total number of cases with coronavirus has risen to 27,892. Meghalaya, Mizoram, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Gujarat, and Haryana's chief ministers have spoken about the further tactics to counter deadly coronavirus that killed nearly 900 people in the region. Meghalaya and Odisha had advised PM Narendra Modi to expand the lockdown with a few more riders. According to reports, the lockdown has played an effective role in suppressing coronavirus spread, hailing the joint efforts of the states and the center.

Gujarat Chief Minister Rupani says the Center will reach a decision to prolong the lockdown in the country's interest. He said the state would comply by the decision on the issue by the Centre.
