Global investors are attracting $16bn from India
International investors have pulled an estimated $26 billion from emerging Asian economies and more than $16 billion from India despite global economic recession due to coronavirus, a latest Congressional study said. "International investors have pulled an estimated USD 26 billion from emerging Asian economies and over USD 16 billion from India, raising fears about a major economic slowdown in Asia," said Covid-19 's independent Congressional Research Center in its latest study on global economic impacts.
India saw the largest single-day leap in 24 hours, with 5,611 new cases
On Wednesday India registered the largest single-day jump in cases of coronavirus. With as many as 5,611 new coronavirus cases and 140 deaths in 24 hours, India's total number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 1,06,750. Meanwhile, the death toll attributed to coronavirus on Wednesday morning climbed to 3,303.
